Drawings

Drawing has persisted throughout my career, particularly pencil drawing and often, putting an informal counterpoint to my projects. Among my drawings, some of them large format, there are works that go beyond the techniques that are specific to what we understand by "drawing", opening a door to transversal readings. Sometimes they are chalked, embossed or spun records, or collages that explore the construction of bridges of memory in autobiographical key or panoramic visions of healing processes, such as self-portraits recovered for the project, "Heteronyms: of an intersection of processes".

Putting in relation the keys of the tradition and a contemporary vision will also give to the artisan processes, authority of artistic language without losing the conceptual contents. I have put in dialogue the traditional techniques and the drawings made with threads, to explore in the possibilities of some materials that three-dimensional the graphic language like in “Territoris dibuixats” series realized in the year 1999 for the gallery Piscolabis of Barcelona or the “Other Territories” for the Stov Gallery in Amsterdam, or the “Embroidered Drawings” made for the Sala Conciliare in Celle Ligure, France.

Some of the pencil drawings made in London in 1973 were part of the “Navigation and Cataloging”, installation made in 2017 for the exhibition at the Art Maristany space in Sant Cugat, as well as the drawing "Calendar" of 1980 that was incorporated into the engraving/collage "Right to decide" of 2014.

Other drawings have been made with graphic and digital reproduction and have shaped artist’s books in collaboration with poets such as Montserrat Abelló, Toni Clapés, Carles Hac Mor and Ester Xargay, Carme Riera and Neus Aguado.
